| Description: |
Driver of a car thought the tracks were the rode and turned onto the tracks. A tow truck was in process of removing the car as a fast moving CSX autorack came through. Everyone got out of their vehicles but vehicles were tossed off the tracks leaving the photographed path of destruction. As luck would have it, I ended my train watching session 15 minutes before the accident. |

A New Maryland Trainwatching Location |
| Description: |
Dumms corner in Riverdale Park Md. has been a suburban Washington landmark for years; it now has reinvented itself into the Town Center Market and is a great train watching location. The patio (Sidewalk Café) is next to the East/West CSX mainline between Washington and Baltimore, CSX and MARC trains come by at a reasonable frequency. It is quite pleasant to drink a soft drink and enjoy a snack (from the market or the sandwich shop around the corner) and watch the trains pass by. |

I was very surprised to learn that the Bay Shore Railroad service between Cape Charles and Little Creek had resumed. Even more surprised to learn that it resumed almost 2 years ago. It seems the state of Virginia and 2 Virginian counties ponied up the million dollars it took to get the barge service back in operation. |
